What do pressure washer nozzles do?
Pressure washer nozzles control the angle and intensity of the water spray. By changing the nozzle, you change how aggressive the cleaning is and how wide the spray pattern becomes.
Which nozzle should I use for general cleaning?
The green 25-degree nozzle is the best all-around option. It offers a good balance of cleaning power and surface coverage for decks, siding, driveways, and equipment.
Can the wrong nozzle damage surfaces?
Yes. Using a nozzle with too narrow of a spray angle, like red or yellow, can etch concrete, strip paint, or damage wood. Always start with a wider spray and move to a narrower one only if needed.
Can I use one nozzle for soap and water?
No. Soap nozzles are designed with a wide spray (usually black) to allow detergent to flow. Using other nozzles with soap will prevent proper chemical application.
What size nozzle do I need for my pressure washer?
Nozzle size is based on your machine’s PSI and GPM. Using the wrong size can reduce cleaning performance or overload the pump. Many manufacturers provide a nozzle size chart to match your machine.
